About Us

USA Dance is a nationwide volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization with 156 local chapters across the United States dedicated to promoting and sharing the excitement and joy of social and competitive dance. USA Dance – Madison is a local chapter of USA Dance. Our Madison Chapter – like other service chapters (Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis, etc.) – receives governance and guidance from the national office.

USA Dance membership helps to support national programs. As a member, you share with others the joys and benefits of ballroom dancing. USA Dance is dedicated to the promotion of ballroom dancing for all ages, while also supporting competitive dancing through the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF). USA Dance also works to increase the availability of social dance opportunities through the efforts of community-based Chapters like USA Dance - Madison.

Some of the dance activites that USA Dance engages include:

• Establishment and support of local chapters throughout the United States
• Support of our country’s top dance athletes
• Organization and regulation of DanceSport competitions both at the regional and national levels
• Encouragement of Special Olympics DanceSport and a K-12 after-school dance programs
• Support of seniors as recreational dancers and DanceSport athletes
• “American Dancer”- a quarterly magazine published by USA Dance
